Wildflower Center Tour
The Violet Crown Wildflower Center Tour is offered daily in Spring, starting at 2pm. Bikers of all skill levels will love this easy 3 hour tour! Cost is $99 per person and includes a guided tour, bicycle, helmet and admission to the wildflower ctr.
Update- a portion of the trail is under construction near the veloway and wildflower ctr., pushing the spring start to sometime in May.

Located in Southwest Austin, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is a legacy of a woman dedicated to preserving and restoring the ecological richness of central Texas. The original 42 acre center has been expanded to include an additional 237 acres of surrounding hill country, ensuring that this beautiful place will always remain a wild and peaceful retreat to greet visitors. The center includes a number of beautifully landscaped gardens highlighting the flora of the hill country's unique ecosystems. While beautiful to visit year round, the wildflower center is a must see if you are visiting between March and June, when the gardens are literally an explosion of color.
On this tour, we ride to the Wildflower Center (botanical garden of texas) via the newly developed Violet Crown Trail, a recently completed hike-n-bike trail that connects Zilker park to Southwest Austin. After riding to the Wildflower Center we stop for an hour to explore the center. There are plenty of opportunities for pictures so don’t forget your camera! There is also a cafe and gift center on site.
The Wildflower Center is located next to the Veloway, a 3.2 mile paved track created specifically for bikers and rollerblades. During our time at the Wildflower Center you are free to ride a lap or two if you want to add a few more miles to your trip.
This tour is 5 miles round trip (not including a loop around the Veloway). Tour price includes guided tour, bike rental, helmet and entrance fee to the Wildflower Center.
